A lot of hype has surrounded Gorilla Mode preworkout — and for good reason: it promises to be the best preworkout supplement to give you a supraphysiological pump, laser focus, and increased recovery time.

But does it measure up to all the hype?

With a more-than-impressive ingredient profile brimming with supraphysiological and bioavailable products blended together to work synergistically for the best workout of your life, Gorilla Mode is head and shoulders above the competition.

Additionally, Gorilla Mode boasts two other products to target lifters who may not want a pump — such as strength athletes — or those who train late in the day and possibly suffer from increased sensitivity to stimulants.

The sad reality is that most preworkouts are little more than gimmicked, overpriced flavored caffeine water that makes your face itch.

Others contain less-than-effective ingredients such as L-Arginine and Beta-Alanine that lack bioavalibility and can prove to be unpleasant or distracting for some lifters.

A distracting preworkout supplement is counterintuitive as many lifters seek increased focus when lifting weights especially when trying to break rep PRs.

One of the reasons why Kraken Kratom released their own capsule form preworkout is due to the increased focus gained from their kratom blend.

But Gorilla Mode distances itself from other competitors with its unique blend of ingredients that go together beautifully to:

  • Improve focus
  • Improve circulation
  • Provide a supraphysiological pump
  • Increase power
  • Eliminate “cracked out” or comedown feeling
  • Improve mind-muscle connection
  • Eliminate lactic acid buildup
  • Boost stamina
  • Potentially improve cardiovascular health
  • Give a nootropic-like effect

Gorilla Mode Ingredients Rundown

Gorilla Mode ingredients

L-Citrulline

This first ingredient has been added to various preworkout supplements, but it is commonly criminally underdosed or blended with Malic Acid to form Citrulline Malate.

Either way, you’re still not getting much bang for your buck.

Around 10,000mg is the active dose of this naturally-occurring ingredient.

Found in watermelons, you’d need to consume anywhere between 5-10lb of watermelon to reap the fullest benefits — which I can’t see anyone doing.

A potent vasodilator, L-Citrulline can help you secure a gnarly pump and faster recovery allowing nutrients to reach muscles with greater ease post-workout.

During your workout, you will look vascular, feel less fatigues, complete more reps, etc., with the help of this ingredient.

Creatine

This is one of the most tested and studied gym supplements on the market.

Sadly, almost every other preworkout supplement underdoses creatine for two reasons: 1) to add hype, inflate the worth of their product 2) create a marketing opportunity to sell their creatine down the line.

Creatine is one of the few over-the-counter supplements that can actually provide supraphysiological performance enhancing results, enabling the lifter to build more muscle and develop more strength than without it!

It is also naturally-occurring and found in meats — but, like with L-Citrulline and watermelons, you’d need to eat superhuman quantities to enjoy an active dose.

I personally love Creatine as it also boasts nootropic properties in addition to the extra size an power in the gym.

GlycerPump

In addition to L-Citrulline, GlycerPump complex can help improve vascularity and blood flow during training.

It is this ingredient that is prone to clumping if the preworkout solution is not consumed shortly after preparation.

Malic Acid

Some studies indicate that Malic Acid can reduce lactic acid buildup and improve endurance.

This would explain how I was able to complete far more reps than without Gorilla Mode in previous workouts.

Betaine Anhydrous

This ingredient is found in beetroots and other every day food items and boasts wonderful health benefits including cardiovascular, hepatic, and anti-carcinogenic properties.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that is found all over the body.

Supplementation can improve alertness, focus; combat sleep deprivation; and elevate mood — all things of which are desirable in a preworkout supplement.

Agmatine Sulphate

Although research on this ingredient appears to be inconclusive when it comes to supplementations for other pathways, Agmatine Sulphate appears to have painkilling effects to enable you to train harder for longer [R].

Kanna

Literally meaning “chew”, Kanna is known to induce euphoria, elevate mood; reduce anxiety, stress, and tension [R].

Caffeine

Goes without saying!

n-phenethyl dimethylamine citrate (Eria Janensis)

This ingredient is often sold as a mood-elevating nootropic which is milder on the energy side, but improves focus, concentration, and cognition.

Bioperine (Black Pepper Fruit Extract)

Aside from the myriad other health benefits this ingredient promotes, Bioperine has some mood elevating, antidepressant, and cognitive enhancing benefits.

Huperazine A

Derived from Chinese Club Moss, this final ingredient can help with cognitive function and energy levels.

It is sometimes used to combat neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and protects the nerves against nerve gases.

Gorilla Mode Flavors

Gorilla Mode comes in many exciting and original flavors that you won’t find in other preworkout formulas, including:

  • Tiger’s Blood (watermelon, strawberry, and coconut — my favorite)
  • Firefly Lemonade (lemonade and peach)
  • Peach & Mango
  • Mojo Mojito
  • Bombsicle
  • Fruit Punch
  • Lemon Lime

I have tried Tiger’s Blood, Firefly Lemonade, and Peach & Mango — and they’re all solid flavors.

Gorilla Mode Review: My Personal Experience

I was taken aback by the first time I ever took Gorilla Mode.

When it arrived, the warming smell of the Tiger’s Blood flavor — watermelon, strawberry, and coconut — wafted delightfully through the packaging.

The packaging itself is of the highest quality.

I decided to test the waters with 1.5 scoops as I already have a high stimulant tolerance — and boy, I was not disappointed.

The taste was exquisite for a preworkout. In the past, I’ve consumed many preworkouts that have been unpleasant, tasting extremely artificial, and left me with heartburn.

(I won’t name names, but after taking Gorilla Mode, there’s no need to try other preworkouts!)

After taking the 1.5 scoops mixed in water, I headed off to the gym to train arms.

It takes roughly 20-30 minutes for the preworkout to kick in and you are filled with energy and unblinkered focus to your task.

Arm day, in my opinion, is the day that requires the most intense mind-muscle connection. The ingredient matrix within Gorilla Mode does not fall short of the mark in this department.

I was hitting certain exercises for 4-6 more reps, on average, than what I was used to. Although for raw power, my numbers on this workout were unchanged, the amount of reps I could perform increased significantly — making Gorilla Mode, hands down, the best preworkout on the market for bodybuilders.

The first few times you take it, you feel like you can train several times longer than without it, plus add a lot more volume than you were previously used to.

The increased stamina is striking and you have enough energy to take on the world.

Furthermore, the vasodilation from certain ingredients such as L-Citrulline aid with quicker recovery from a more complete, grueling workout.

When I got home, there was no comedown or excessive soreness following a supraphysiological training session.

Since the initial review, I like to use the stimulating afterglow to work or be productive in other areas.

It doesn’t affect my sleeping pattern or give me heart palpitations like other preworkouts have done in the past following training sessions.

Gorilla Mode Review: Positives

Gorilla Mode Tub

There are just a ton of positives with this preworkout, but lets start with the obvious: the pump.

With a bigger-than-average dose of L-Citrulline, your pumps will be like something you’ve never seen before.

The energy matrix within Gorilla Mode will power your workouts even in a state of sleep deprivation.

You will be able to do more reps and sets than without it; you will be more focused and requiring shorter rest periods.

The malic acid will combat lactic acid buildup and fatigue, enabling you to train harder for longer.

And your overall recovery time will be quicker.

Plus you won’t feel “cracked out” or jittery once you come back from the gym.

In fact, my work productivity noticeably increases following a workout due to its residual effects.

As mentioned, Gorilla Mode can:

  • Improve focus
  • Improve circulation
  • Provide a supraphysiological pump
  • Increase power
  • Eliminate “cracked out” or comedown feeling
  • Improve mind-muscle connection
  • Eliminate lactic acid buildup
  • Boost stamina
  • Potentially improve cardiovascular health
  • Give a nootropic-like effect

It may be a little pricey, but it’s worth every penny if you’ve ever tried other preworkouts. If you want a cheaper option, just drink black coffee or give our homemade preworkout a go.

One thing that really endeared me to Gorilla Mode was the fact that it was the only preworkout I ever stumbled across that actually contained an active dose of Creatine. Other preworkouts emphasize the fact that their product contains Creatine when, in actuality, they only provide a fraction of the dose as a marketing opportunity to sell their own Creatine separately and at a premium.

Gorilla Mode Review: Criticisms

Gorilla Mode Inside of Tub

My criticisms of Gorilla Mode are very minor.

First, the overwhelming pump gained from the blend of ingredients can be unpleasant for strength athletes.

As a former powerlifter, there’s nothing worse than a skin-splitting lower back pump when attempting a set of heavy squats, deadlifts, or rows — believe me, you don’t want that; it’s very off-putting.

However, they have an answer for the massive pump you’ll get — they offer Gorilla Mode Stim which is a product that keeps in the energy and focus, but goes easy on the pump.

Gorilla Mode Stim Energy Pre-Workout Formula – Intense Focus & Clean Mental Energy/L-Tyrosine, Kanna, Caffeine, N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate, Huperzine A / 168 Grams (Mojo Mojito)

Moreover, if you cannot handle stimulants or train later on it the day and don’t want your sleep schedule to be interrupted, they have a stimulant-free preworkout called Gorilla Mode Nitric that is designed to provoke a gnarly pump without the extra energy.

Second, you have to be quick to consume the preworkout solution once you’ve mixed it with water. As it is replete with active ingredients, the solution can clump. Of course, this isn’t anything major, but it goes with the territory of a very generous product.

Third, since most preworkouts make your face itch — so that you know it’s doing something — it’ll feel weird to some lifters to train without the Beta-Alanine figuratively pouring a bucket of bugs all over your skin.

That last one was something a friend brought up to me — he actually missed the itchiness from the Beta-Alanine!

The last point is that I recommend that you take a month off every couple of months or so to reset your tolerance levels as they can rise quickly.

How to Buy Gorilla Mode

You can purchase it at Gorilla Mind’s website or on Amazon.

This preworkout is in extremely high demand and is often sold out. It is advisable to buy multiple tubs and sign up to their mailing list whenever they are back on sale.

But hurry because they don’t stay on the shelves for long!

Gorilla Mode Conclusion

I have been lifting for nearly two decades and have consumed dozens of preworkouts over the years, but none have come close to Gorilla Mode — it just hits different.

Not only does it hit different, but it also has the bioactive ingredient profiles to back up its well-deserved hype.

Since taking Gorilla Mode preworkout for the first time around 6 months ago, I haven’t gone back to using other preworkouts as none of them hold a candle to Gorilla Mode.

Other preworkouts are deliberately overpriced and underdosed to fatten profit margins. Gorilla Mode, on the other hand, is a LARGE preworkout scoop due to the amount of ingredients it contains.

You will not be disappointed by Gorilla Mode and Gorilla Mind’s products as they truly are elite tier in all areas.

In actual fact, I’m about to take some now before heading out to the gym.
