Rauwolscine is the hard-to-pronounce fat burn that has shown a lot of promise in recent months. Consequently, it has risen in popularity — but what’s all the hype surrounding this fat burner?
The reputed Yohimbine cousin has been celebrated for its attractive fat burning qualities without the extensive side-effect profile of the more well-known Yohimbe.
Yohimbe is known to cause certain unpleasant side effects that Rauwolscine does not. The side effects Rauwolscine might present are far fewer and less noticeable than Yohimbe.
Some of these Yohimbe-related side-effects can include unpleasant sensations such as:
- Heart Palpitations
- High Blood Pressure
All of the above make it an unpleasant experience.
Users who are reportedly prone to anxiety aren’t quite as affected. Similarly, green tea, for example, contains properties that counteract the potential jitter-inducing side effects of caffeine.
It’s not recommended for those who might be sensitive to stimulants, but Rauwolscine’s stimulant effects are relatively unfelt as evidenced by the user review posted below.
What is Rauwolscine? Why is It Gaining Popularity?
Rauwolscine is an alkaloid found in various species within the genera Rauvolfia and Pausinystalia and it is a stereoisomer of yohimbine [R].
Rauwolscine, growing in popularity, is also assoctiated with Yohimbe diastereoisomers like isoyohimbine, α-yohimbine, and corynanthidine.
But it is far commonly known as Rauwolscine for commercial and marketing reasons to distance itself from its cousin, Yohimbe.
Rauwolscine is a Central Nervous System stimulant, a possible local anesthetic, and, incredibly, several reports hint at it boasting aphrodisiac properties, in addition to all its other characteristics.
Additionally, Rauwolscine has been proven to display affinity with certain serotonin receptors, therefore indicating mild antidepressant and antianxiety effects — in spite of its stimulant effects potentially causing anxiety as a side-effect. This would act in a way calming properties of tea, such as L-Theanine,
Despite showing promise for some positive health benefits, its effects have only been based on animal and cellular research. No clinical data is currently available to support the wider claims.
Regardless, given its status as a CNA stimulant, several lifters have employed Rauwolscine as a fat burner. Some people even use it as a form of pre-workout supplement instead of black coffee or traditional pre-workout powders.
How Does Rauwolscine Work?
Rauwolscine is a α2-adrenergic (Alpha-2) receptor antagonist — being receptors found specifically in the brain and around other parts of the body — blocking these receptors more efficiently than good ol’ Yohimbe.
For this reason it presents itself as a better fat burning option than its cousin — aside from the reduced side-effect profile.
Rauwoscine doesn’t lead to direct fat loss, but it can block the body’s functions that inhibit fat loss; for example, after prolonged dieting in a signifcant caloric deficit where the body may be in a state of Muscle Protein Breakdown — where it sheds metabolically expensive muscle tissue to lower its basal metabolic rate instead of utilizing fat.
As a Alpha-2 receptor antagonist, Rauwolscine increases norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine levels and decreases serotonin levels — associated with fight or flight mode. By blocking the alpha-2 receptors, Rauwolscine may accelerate fat loss.
In our article on uncommon fat burners, we mentioned how MK-677 can decrease insulin sensitivity while Rauwolscine can actually improve insulin sensitivity.
Finally, Rauwolscine has been shown to loosely bind to serotonin receptors, functioning as a 5-HT1A receptor partial agonist and 5-HT2A and 5-HT2B receptor antagonist, as we previously signaled, showing promise as having antidepressant qualities.
A Rauwolscine Review
T+ 0:00 — Pop one capsule with my supplements; only have cold water and black coffee in my system. Feeling quite tired, but chilling out while waiting for something to happen.
T+ 0:10 — Start feeling something, energy levels began to increase; get up to get changed and ready for an uphill walk on the treadmill.
T+ 0:20 — Legs (oddly) start to feel cold. Ignore it and put it down to a side effect. Drink some water before getting on the treadmill.
T+ 0:30 — Start walking on the treadmill. Heartrate slightly elevated before starting. The walk is fine, just feeling a little hungry since I hadn’t eaten in 16 hours. This fat burner can help with suppressing appetite, but maybe something stronger is require to stave off hunger.
T+ 1:15 — Completed a relatively tough 45 minute uphill walk completely fasted. Cool down and prepare a small meal. I am able to eat although I am quickly satiated.
T+ 4:00 — Energy levels back to normal; able to drink black coffee and hit the gym for a weights session. No comedown to speak of. Yohimbe has been known to leave users with appalling comedowns after use. Rauwolscine’s energy did not feel 100% “clean” but it didn’t leave me with any of the potential side effects listed above
T+ 12:00 — No problems unwinding or getting to bed. The rest of my day went on without any issues or erratic energy fluctuations. I didn’t have a comedown and it was as if I had not taken anything in the afternoon.
Before I continue, it must be stated that fat burners such as Rauwolscine are NOT miracle cures and will not have the desired effect if you’re not in a caloric deficit.
This product can, however, assist with burning fat if your diet model and exercise are >90% on point. Don’t expect to drop 15lb in a month by adding this into your routine.
It can definitely help you shed some stubborn poundage a lot quicker.
I have been taking Rauwolscine for a few weeks now and it has made a noticeable change to my physique: my waistline is more defined, my arms look more chiseled, and the outer line of my pecs are coming through nicely.
Although this is mostly attributed to being in a caloric deficit, Rauwolscine has helped kick my diet up a gear.
Before we go onto its side-effect profile, let’s see what Rauwolscine can do.
Like with all supplements, they’re not miracle cures. The onus is on you to make sure you are in a caloric deficit if you want to burn fat.
Aside from that, Rauwolscine can help with the following:
- Enhance lipolysis (fat burning)
- Increase energy levels
- Decrease appetite
- Pair well with fasted cardio
All while boasting an insignificant comedown and reduced side-effect profile.
Results To Expect
To reiterate, you won’t shed dozens of pounds just by popping Rauwolscine once a day — you need to put in the work by being in a prolonged caloric deficit by eating less and doing more.
However, if you struggle with discipline (we encourage you to give this 12-week program a go: https://gumroad.com/a/753661043/vrvFg), the appetite suppression can go a long way in preventing you from overeating and ruining your diet.
While some might struggle with remaining motivated to do morning cardio, the energy boost will help you persist for longer throughout your cardio session help burn more calories.
Rauwolscine is best reserved for those who have hit a plateau in their diet or are seeking to get shredded without having to resort to potentially more dangerous substances such as Albuterol, Clenbuterol, a myriad of experimental Peptides, or DNP.

Rauwolscine has risen to prominence over its far milder side effects than its cousin, Yohimbe. And for this reason has become a choice growing in popularity.
With most CNS stimulants and drugs, side effects are to be expected and they can vary from person to person. You should take appropriate measures to mitigate these side effects — this can include supplementing something such as L-Theanine.
You might expect the following:
- Elevated Heart Rate
- Increased Blood Pressure
- Headaches (from increased blood pressure)
- Anxiety (if you are sensitive)
- Frequent Urination
It is always advisable to remain well-hydrated throughout your day.
Several other factors can influence these side effects, too.
For example, consuming these capsules on an empty stomach — as may consumers like to take Rauwolscine before their fasted cardio — or when it is taken in conjunction with other stimulants.
With all stimulants, those who are sensitive to stimulants; suffer from kidney/liver issues; suffer from anxiety, depression, cardiovascular conditions, and pregnant women might want to consult a physician before consuming Rauwolscine or any other fat burners that contain stimulants.
