Vitamin B12 is one of the best supplements a man can take. Today, we’re going to go over why.
To stay healthy, men require a variety of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin B12 is a B vitamin that is essential for several physiological activities. You’re probably already deficient in this substance.
Vitamin B12: an Irreplaceable Part of Your Diet
This vitamin is critical for various life-sustaining functions in your body.
B-12 is required for men to make myelin, a substance that insulates nerve fibers and speeds up neuron firing. It keeps your nerves sharp and on point.
The vitamin also aids in the production of new red blood cells and encourages normal DNA formation. Vitamin B-12 is also required for a number of chemical reactions involved in the production of hormones, proteins, and lipids.
That’s a lot of information to digest, but hopefully you’re beginning to see the importance of vitamin B-12 in your life.
The recommended dosage of vitamin B-12 is 2.4 mcg a day. Viitamin B-12 is found mostly in animal products, but those are going down in nutrients by the day. We used to have many more nutrients and vitamins in our food, I estimate over 50% of them have been sucked out in the past one hundred years.
Your great grandparents and ancestors didn’t have to supplement with vitamins like these because they already had them in their food. Now, it’s much different.
If you want to get nutrients, you’ll have to look at buying them directly. You can get vitamin B-12 pretty much anywhere, amazon, GNC, etc.
If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you 100% need to supplement with vitamin B-12. You don’t consume any (or very little) animal products, and you get almost no nutrients.
Being deficient in vitamin B-12 (or any vitamins for that matter) is dangerous to your health. If you are lacking in vitamin B-12 specifically, you should expect confusion and fatigue, and maybe memory loss. This is due to the fact that vitamin b-12 plays a critical role in your nerve functioning.
