How to Make Your Pecs Bounce

There are two parts to making your pecs bounce.

First, you must actually have well-developed chest muscles, precisely, lower chest muscles.

Second, you’re effectively performing a micro-contraction with your pectorals — done with the intent of bringing your arms forward.

Develop Your Lower Chest

You have to train your lower chest to make your pecs bounce

For a well-pronounced pec bounce, you have to develop your chest.

A strong lower chest will make for a more impressive bounce.

The best exercises in order to do this are:

  • Weight Dips
  • Decline Bench
  • High Cable Crossovers
  • DB Bench Press
  • DB Squeeze Press

Although this process may take years to complete, building up your pectoral muscles will enable you to bounce these muscles.

Even at higher body fat percentages a pec bounce will be visible as opposed to chasing down six pack abs.

Contraction

The Rock’s Legendary Pec Pop

You have to contract your pecs in isolation to pull off this trick.

Your pectorals contract by bringing your arms forwards towards your body.

Following months or years of training, your mind-muscle connection will improve significantly. This will enable you to command your pecs to bounce without exaggerating the part where you bring your arms forward.

Part of the reason why people struggle when they are new to lifting weights — aside from being physically weak — is due to the Central Nervous System (CNS) trying to figure out what muscle fibers to fire to perform a certain movement.

Of course, it’ll take practice to perfect the art of popping your pecs, but once you’ve trained sufficiently, your ability to make your pecs dance will improve.
